3 Vintage Glass 'Frogs' for Flower Arranging

My mother was an arranger of wonderful 'unstudied' bouquets and often used one of these in the bottom of her vase to hold a few of the first stems of her arrangement in place. After that she went about inserting stems freely...and always the result was lovely but rather 'casual'.

I just remember being fascinated by these pretty glass objects.

She always called these things 'frogs', so right or wrong, that's what I call them too...although my husband who is Irish, calls them 'roses'.

In this group of 3, there is one larger than I have ever seen. It measures approx. 8 inches in diameter and approx. 6 inches high. It is marked 'Made in England' and '7 1/2' on the bottom.
Unusually is banded all around with silver.

Therre are two further 'frogs' both marked "Made in France". The oval one is 6" long and the round one is 5 1/2 inches in diameter.

This large 'frog-rose' and the oval one are in very good condition with no chips, but they do have an internal crack which doesn't come through to the outside. The round one is in pristine condition

On the picture this was the most magnificent skirt. In reality it is not like on the picture. It’s really old, faded and the lace sticks out from the really old cotton bodice. It looks quite cheap, even though it probably was wonderful a couple of decades ago. It’s definitely not worth the money. I will not wear it. It looks like it’s ready to be retired after decades of intensive use. Sorry.
