Melody is an easy memory bear pattern without joints.

Use this sewing pattern to make a ‘patchwork’ memory bear from your child's pre-loved clothing to create a treasured keepsake toy, as a special memento to cherish as a reminder of your baby’s first years, to mark a special occasion or in memory of a special loved one.

RECOMMENDED FABRICS:
You can use most fabrics to sew your keepsake bears, in fact, mixing and matching different types of fabrics makes the bears look awesome! Use interfacing to line fabrics that are thin and very stretchy. This bear is made from scraps of re-purposed clothing.

It depends on how big your garments are - but I think I used about 8 pieces of baby clothing for mine. :)

This teddy bear pattern is un-jointed and the arms and legs are sewn into the body pieces. This means the bear is a 'sitting bear' and the arms and legs aren't movable but it makes the teddy bear easy to make as there are no complicated joints!

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
Main fabric - 45cm x 110cm wide / 18 x 43½ inches wide.
Contrast fabric (ear and footpads) - 20cm x 22cm wide / 8 x 8¼inches wide.
* Or you can use between 6 and 8 items of baby clothes for each bear
Craft eyes - 18mm (¾ inch).
Embroidery thread for nose and mouth.
Scrap of felt for nose.
