DESCRIPTION:
*This is a PDF crochet pattern for a luxurious “no animals harmed” faux bear skin nursery rug or photo prop. The entire bear rug is crocheted (with the exception of nose and eyes). It looks great as a nursery decoration and it is totally adorable for newborn photo sessions!

*This pattern was designed using safety eyes and nose ONLY. No crochet alternatives are listed (sorry, but I wanted it to look more real, feel free to substitute your own crochet eyes/nose if you like).

*Color suggestions are given for black bear, brown bear, panda bear, or polar bear options. This would make a great prop for a photo session for an amateur or a professional photographer.

*This rug is NOT a toy and therefore should never be left around unsupervised (young) children. Please use non-slip backing under rug if used on floor. Other options: Hang on wall or drape over chair, etc.

SIZE:
The rug as written (and with the suggested yarn amount) is approximately 25” wide and 40” long. For this size you will need 12-15 skeins of Red Heart Boutique Fur Yarn. If you can’t find it in your local stores, several links are provided in the pattern.

SKILL LEVEL:
The pattern itself is EASY, however…working with fur yarn is NOT easy. You must be able to “feel” for your stitches so I’ve labeled it INTERMEDIATE skill level. Please be confident in your ability before purchasing as there are no refunds for digital patterns. Must be able to follow a written crochet pattern.

TERMINOLOGY:
This pattern is written in STANDARD U.S. CROCHET TERMS and in ENGLISH ONLY.

MATERIALS NEEDED:
Crochet hook sizes "J" (6 mm) and “P” (10 mm)
Notions: stitch markers, measuring tape, yarn needle
Miscellaneous: safety eyes (18-24 mm), safety nose (30-40 mm), small amount of polyester fiberfill stuffing (links are provided in the pattern for safety eyes and nose)

YARN:
“Fur”: 12-15 skeins of Red Heart Boutique Fur (or any #7 jumbo weight “fur” yarn) and a small amount of desired color in either #4 worsted weight or #5 chunky weight yarn for the muzzle.

INCLUDED:
The PDF includes detailed written instructions for a crochet pattern. It does NOT include a photo tutorial/video, or finished item. Please be confident of your skill level before purchasing.
