I have been quilting and designing for almost 20 years. My aunt is an amazing artist and quilter. I first fell in love with quilts when she made me a quilt while in high school. It was one of the most amazing and special gifts I have ever recieved. The entire quilt was hand-quilted. Since the quilt had a cat on it, I named it "kitty quilt". Although kitty quilt is falling apart now, I still use it every day. No one else in the house is allowed to use it--my husband will often try to use it when he sits on the couch. I will always remind him that kitty quilt is mine.
It wasn't until I saw a tv show that was profiling modern quilts that I really understood the connection between modern design and the art of hand-quilting. Once I had the vision I began quilting...
I have been featured in several venues, including Dwell Magazine. I have also had 2 quilts featured in Quilts, Baby!, a book from Lark Publishers. The book is available at amazon.com.
I create fun designs with a modern edge. I personally hand quilt each one of my quilts. Although it takes a considerable amount of time, there is just something amazing about a hand quilted quilt that cannot be duplicated.
Just like kitty quilt, I believe each quilt is a work of art to be lovingly used and treasured.
