I am an artist and craftsperson who loves exploring the tactile and visual properties of a variety of media. I have a BFA in ceramics and a minor in printing arts, and have attained Journeyman level in a Master Weaver program.
I try to create technically sound pots that feel good in the hand. I use freehand brushwork to add glaze interest. Pottery is intrinsically linked to the clay from which it comes, thus I like leaving areas of the natural clay exposed. I throw pots on the wheel and fire my electric kiln to cone 6 (2232 degrees).
My textile arts stem from a love of fiber and color. I develop projects based on materials in my stash, often inherited or recycled. I enjoy weaving, sewing, dyeing, knitting, beading, photography, and graphic design. And I need more time. :-) www.facebook.com/ParkPlaceHandcrafted
