In 2006, I was nearly in my third year of being a stay at home mommy to my twin girls. I really loved the notion to be home, raise them, and still be able to do the things I love. I had been making them their little hats since they were newborns, and my love for creating hats took off. Then I added more mittens, scarves, and more along the way. I decided to really grab a hold of what I enjoyed doing, and stumbed onto Etsy. My shop name is a play on my daughters' names. We always called them "Ava-Bava" and "Livy Loo", and that's how "Ava-Loo's came about~
At the time Etsy was only 9 months old, and a very new site. I too, was a very new shop owner. It was perfect! As Etsy changed, so have I. My styles, my techniques, my passion just kept getting better. Thanks to my wonderful mom, who taught me all there is to know with knitting, crocheting, cooking and everything else under the sun!!
So fast forward six plus years (wow), and another child later. I have my shop exactly how I envisioned it all those years ago. The best part is that I am constantly creating and thinking up new ideas! The only thing I wish I had, was more time (don't we all!??).
I enjoy meeting people from around the counrty and those beyond! To think my work has been shipped to each of the 50 states and countries around the world blows my mind! Keeping hearts and heads warm is the best job ever~
