Dus ben ik het zelf gaan maken. Ik liep met mijn twee dochters door winkels op zoek naar dingen – of het nu kleding, een boek of een kunstwerk was – en alles in de schappen was gewoon saai, kitscherig of leek voor niemand in het bijzonder gemaakt. We konden nooit iets vinden dat aansloot bij onze humor of persoonlijke stijl.

Dat is eigenlijk het hele doel. Ik maak kleding, kleurboeken en andere dingen gebaseerd op wat mensen echt zeggen en denken. Als het je aan het lachen maakt of gewoon herkenbaar is, dan heeft het zijn doel bereikt.

So I started making it myself. I would walk through stores with my two daughters looking for things—whether it was clothes, a book, or a piece of art—and everything on the shelves was just boring, cheesy, or felt like it was made for nobody in particular. We could never find anything that matched our sense of humor or personal style.

That’s pretty much the whole goal here. I make apparel, coloring books, and pieces with things people actually say and think. If it makes you laugh or just feels like you, then it did its job.
