Socially responsible wildlife inspired collectibles

About us: PashooPakshee means 'animals & birds' in Hindi. PashooPakshee is bringing Wildlife into homes with delicately designed collectibles that celebrate the diversity of Wildlife. Best efforts are taken to achieve this objective with a sense of responsibility towards our society and nature.

Playing with Handicrafts:
We value and cherish the beauty of Indian handicrafts that is heavily influenced by nature. We respect this and wish to take it forward. Our designers have taken special efforts to reach artisans directly train them patiently on new designs so that they make best out of their craft.

Responsible collectibles:
We work closely with various Non-profit organisation and the Forest Departments in India to provide sustainable livelihood to tribal and marginal communities by means of skill development and employment opportunities.

    Community Outreach Program ( CORP) is our non-proft partner who brings together women from marginalised communities & slums in Mumbai. PashooPakshee trains these women to make our products then gives them orders in order to provide a sustainable source of income.

  • Koli Tribe Fishing Community

    Mumbai, India

    A group of enthusiastic women from the Koli tribe (fishing community) the lives near the harbor line of Mumbai.They are within the city and yet located at the remote end where job opportunities are limited. The family income is only about $180 a month and often struggle to make ends meet.

    The tribal women's paper making unit in a small village called Ghoti that is situated at the peripheri of Pench Tiegr reserve makes these crisp white papers for us using textile waste from a neighbouring factory.

    From jungles of Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book. The community's extremely remote location give them no alternative but to depend on Forest resources (wood, leaves, meat) to live & earn often coming in conflict with big cats like Tigers & Leopards where either man or the animal gets killed.

  • Rameshwar

    Varanasi, India

    Rameshwar is a master craftsman who makes miniature wooden figurine of deities, animals & birds. The craft is 400 years old and he is ensuring he carries the torch forward. Rameshwar understands our designs and hand crafts these gorgeous birds for us.

  • Trilok Thakur

    Madhya Pradesh, India

    Trilok is among the last surviving artisans who makes these life size birds. He is currently helping us train tribal communities in Madhya Pradesh to carry the torch of his craft. Trilok's Papier mache has his own unique style. He powders paper and mixes it with tree gum to make his own paper clay
