About PinkLotusCrochetkari

Sales 2
On Etsy since 2019

Hand crocheted with yarn and love, for you.

After working for sixteen hectic years as a banker I decided to step off the corporate juggernaut and become a stay at home mom. Crochet came to my rescue and helped keep me sane as I was not used to long hours of leisure.

Finally when every vase, figurine and object d'art were sitting on a crochet doily and almost all my clothes got crochet edgings... my family gave me an ultimatum - No more crochet thingies at home!! This gave rise to the idea that maybe my beautiful crochet pieces need better homes with a discerning and appreciative family.

Finding Etsy is nothing short of a miracle for me. The fact that people from all over the world can see my crochet and also buy it, amazes and thrills me at the same time.

Pink Lotus Crochetkari is the place where my Indian fondness for colours and textures meets my passion for crochet. As I am constantly experimenting with different stitch patterns and colour combinations most items in my shop are one of a kind. The word "Crochetkari" was coined by my brother as there is no Indian word for the art of crochet, so taking the cue from phulkari (a form of Punjabi embroidery) and kalamkari (art of hand painting or block printing on cotton fabric) we decided on Crochetkari.
