Wild Columbine was born out of a passion for design, textiles, the natural environment, and the handmade.

Born into a Lebanese-American family, the art of tradition, craft, and culture was interwoven throughout my childhood. From big family meals based around traditional foods, to weekly craft nights where the women would gather to converse, create, and share their skills, I was taught to appreciate culture and craftsmanship from a young age.

My philosophy is to create beautiful decorative and functional textiles that are kind to the environment and use quality fibers. I draw inspiration from natural surroundings, my botanical studies, traditional folk crafts, and many cross-country travels.

Each piece is carefully constructed by hand from beginning to end. I find that using my hands roots me in the process and instills beauty that cannot be found in manufactured goods. Though a slower process, I believe that the art of handmade creates a one-of-a-kind object cherished and coveted, rather than easily disposed of.
