The earrings depict two stylized birds who carry with their wings a round natural gemstone (representing the moon). The sterling silver earrings have a shiny surface, a round faceted stone of ø6 mm and fish hooks.

All our jewels are made from solid sterling silver 925/1000 (sometimes even more pure quality), nickel free, and are carefully crafted by hand in our workshop located in northern Niger. ✎ KILLA: A Polynesian myth about why the moon has spots
At the beginning of the universe Killa, the moon, was a man who lived on earth. Killa, however, committed errors: at night he used to go and molest his sister. The sister didn’t know who it was who was annoying her in the darkness, and one day she decided to find out. She prepared a wito dye and when the opportunity presented itself she rubbed it on the face of the unknown person who was bothering her. Killa ran away and when he reached a river tried to wash his face, but in vain because the stain didn’t disappear. His face was stained black.
Killa, ashamed of himself, begged the birds Kiwa-pishku: "Help me! I don’t want to live here, I want to go higher. Take me with you". Together they made two gigantic fans that the Kiwa-pishku then grabbed. Flying upwards with Killa sitting in the middle. They went up so high that he never came back down and turned into the moon.
This is why the moon doesn’t shine well: he has his face painted with wito. It's not like Yaya Inti, the sun, that lights up around the world and gives life to everything.

☛ CARE TIPS
Sterling silver is a hard metal that will stand the test of time but it tend to tarnish or darken over time and when comes in contact with the oils of your skin. So aged or darkened metal is a natural process and it really depends on each individual person as to how long it will take before your piece tarnishes. Tarnish is the superficial oxidation caused by the contact of the silver with the sulfur of the atmosphere. Stains created by this process, at an early stage can be removed easily by rubbing with a soft piece of cloth. At a later stage, when the jewels are too tarnished, you need to use one of the many liquid cleansers for silver items that are widely available in the market.

Like all jewelry, in order for your silver ones to remain as shiny and beautiful as new, you have to follow some rules:
*Store your jewelry in a clean and dry place or in a plastic zip-bag.
*Try to avoid perfume, lotion, chlorine, and other chemicals or cosmetics, to maintain the beauty of the jewelry.
*Clean your sterling silver pieces regularly.
*The safest and most effective way to polish sterling silver is to wipe it gently with a soft cloth
*If you want to remove silver tarnish, you can try adding a small amount of mild detergent to the piece, and then use a soft cloth
