In December 2009 we started fostering for our local GSR. We started with a litter of 6 puppies weighing 3lbs. We received them from a high kill shelter in our area - they were an owner surrender. We raised the precious babies up til they left for their forever homes. We kept the last one until he was approximately 4 months old. By the time he left, we were hooked on fostering - saving lives was definitely for us.
We fostered/rescued German Shepherds until 2014 when things in our life changed drastically. Although we weren't able to bring the homeless pets to our home, we did transport so they were able to reach their foster home or forever home. And sometimes, they reached our home as their forever home.
The majority of the models for our collars/jackets are our forever failed rescues. The ones we couldn't let go, that tugged on our heart. They live in our home, on our beds, with daily love.
We are very rescue friendly and started Dog Collars By Design with rescues in mind.
