I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, USA, and my entire family is in Texas. Our ancestors were here when Texas was a Republic, well before the country joined the US, before Civil War. During the Reconstruction Period 1856-7. my great-grandfather, James T. D. Wilson, was mayor two non-consecutive terms following the Civil War. I'm the proud owner of his Barrister Bookcase and several beautiful pieces of carved wood and marble top furniture from that era.
I'm the founder of a non-profit org SierraLeoneRelief.org which has provided food and supplies to individuals, families, and communities on the West Coast of Africa which originated Lent 2002.
Homemade bread baking and cooking are my favorite pastimes... I just enjoy gatherings and feeding people!
Best of all, I'm blessed with a fine family: Two brilliant sons and a brilliant & lovely daughter-in-law, and a smart & chic teen granddaughter who designs and sews clothing! I have two courageous brothers who are my heroes - and one extraordinary, super cool sis-in-law, spreading joy at every occasion, including Hurricane Slumber Parties!!
The source of riches in my life is triune - God, His Son, and the Holy Spirit! I adore my dear family and friends in Sierra Leone - they enriched my life.
