I’ve loved sewing since I learnt as a child (thanks mum!) and when I became a mother myself I realised that sewing not only satisfied my creative urge while spending time at home with my babies, but it also filled a void in the childrens wear market for me.

When my second child turned out to be the whiny, unsettled type (who says no. 2 is always easier?!) I looked for a ‘comforter’ to soothe her. At my local childrens boutiques and toy shop all I could find were the usual teddy sticking out of the middle of a small blanket, nothing cute but simple and stylish. I went home and made her a little embroidered birdie ‘blankie’. She seemed to love it and I went on to make her some soft comfortable slippers to match. Others liked them too. After having visions of all the creatures I could have fun making, ‘Bubala’ was born!

So here I am satisfying my urge to ‘make stuff’. I hope you enjoy using my creations as much as I enjoy making them.

My comforters are designed to soothe baby with their soft fabrics and fluffy creatures, and feature sturdy ribbon detail for baby to play with. For best results I advise mum or dad to sleep with the comforter for a night (or carry it close to your skin for a few hours) to transfer your familiar scent onto it before giving to baby. All fabrics are pre-washed.

If you see something you like and want to add to it (for instance adding a hat to a comforter to make a set) please convo me, I'm happy to take custom orders.

All items are individual and have the nuances of handmade pieces. Each style has been tested on family and friends. I welcome feedback and would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.
