I have always loved baskets. Big or small, plain or ornate - these woven containers have an attraction for me that borders on obsession. I began learning to weave when my daughter took a basket out of my hands at an art festival and challenged me - "if you want any more baskets, you need to learn to make them yourself." And so I did. I made one, and then another, and another and another. Each one was different, unique and special to me.

Each time I begin a basket, handling the reed and fibers I feel a connection to all those weavers down through time...women who wove baskets and made them more than simple containers, they made objects of beauty for their homes and loved ones.

I am proud of my Cherokee Heritage, and many of my baskets reflect the patterns and styles of my ancestors. I hope you enjoy my baskets as much as I have enjoyed making them.

My passion for the fiber arts has grown over the years to include spinning my own yarns as well as weaving the baskets to hold them. I've expanded my offerings here to include a selection of simple drop spindles and hand spun yarns, as well as knitting spools and soft handmade dolls.
