About The Artist:
My name is Kai, and I'm a self taught artist based in Little Rock, AR. Drawing is the earliest thing I can remember doing. I'm sure you’ve heard something similar come out of the mouths of most artists you’ve asked that question to, but it really is the only way to answer for most. I’d watch Disney or Ghibli movies and think to myself “I’m gonna make something like that someday”. While I’m certainly nowhere near there, that longing to create something that inspires people and takes them away from the shaky world we live in, even for a moment, will never leave me. Growing up my aunt was (and still is) an art teacher for all grades. She’d come home to my grandma when she’d watch me during the day and I’d immediately start pestering her, asking her to draw with me or to teach me what she taught her kid’s that day. Poor gal already spent a whole day dealing with children only to come home to deal with another one, she always made time to plant that artistic seed in me, though.
I’ve been homeschooled since kindergarten, which probably isn’t surprising to hear. That of course has given me more creative opportunities and I genuinely don’t think I’d be the artist or person I am today if I had attended public schooling. The downside of that, though, was I didn’t have the extra-curricular opportunities most kids have, and honestly, I wasn't all that interested in them. On top of that i’m an only child so I didn't always have someone to play with, which of course meant I spent most of my spare time drawing. Luckily for me, my parents have always been nothing but absolutely supportive of who I am and the creative career path I intend to lead. I could go on and on about how grateful I am for the relentlessly supportive people in my life, but this is getting long so I’ll end this portion here.
TikTok:
Almost a year ago ,I started making videos of my painting process on the social app TikTok. I didn’t expect anybody to see them but of course a few posts in, after freaking out over a video getting a thousand likes, I posted a video of me drawing Jack and Sally. It was so hastily put together, I started recording halfway through the drawing and got the date wrong in the caption, people thought I was a time-traveler, I got featured in an art TikTok compilation where everybody in the comment section were roasting me for using a Corpse Bride audio in the video, it was a whole ordeal. And of course that’s the video that first gets popular. Alongside the “DiD yOu KnOw ThIs SoNg Is FrOm coRpsE bRiDe?!” comments were genuinely lovely things being said about my work. I've been complimented for my art before, but this was different. A large number of people brought together in the comment section of a questionably put together video sharing one common thing, they all liked my art. It wasn’t the “clout” I was so thrilled by, but the fact that, just like I mentioned I wanted before, people were seeing and feeling things from what I make. After that I made more videos, always ecstatic to see how it would make all who stumbled upon it feel. People would say that it soothed their worries for however long it lasted, and no matter how long it lasted, those are always the comments that make me the happiest, I feel it’s the reason I do it, afterall. I hope I’m able to do that for a long time.
And now it’s a year later. I still make videos, but now I have the opportunity to share my art in a more hands-on way, which is what I'm sure has brought you here. And I'm very, very grateful it has. You’re probably bored of reading by now so it’s probably time this section comes to a close.
Before you go, I want to say thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about how i got here, lucky enough to share my art with wonderful people such as yourself, which is truly something I’ve wanted forever. Take care and be well. - Kai

Do you ship to the Netherlands?
As much as I wish I could, I unfortunately do not, Due to multiple irreversible issues with shipping and customs. Hopefully in the future it can be sorted and I can successfully send to your beautiful country, but at the moment I just don’t have knowledge or tools to do so. Hope you understand!
