How Alive Day Co. Was Born
Alive Day Co. nació de mi propio Alive Day: el 15 de enero de 2007.
Tras 11 meses de combate en el sur de Afganistán, fui herido por una mina antitanque triple enterrada. La explosión lo cambió todo en un instante. Sufrí lesiones catastróficas: múltiples lesiones en la médula espinal, una pelvis aplastada separada de la columna vertebral, fracturas de costillas, traumatismo en órganos internos, fractura de cráneo y la pérdida de la pierna derecha por encima de la rodilla. Al principio, los médicos me dijeron que no volvería a caminar. Pasé los siguientes dos años y medio viviendo en un hospital del Ejército en Washington D. C. y me sometí a 84 cirugías.
Pero ese día no fue el final de mi historia; fue el comienzo de una nueva.
Hoy, vivo para mi familia. Tengo la suerte de tener una esposa amorosa y tres hijos increíbles, dos de los cuales di la bienvenida a este mundo después de mi lesión. Ahora soy profesor de secundaria, esforzándome por inspirar a las mentes jóvenes y prepararlas para el futuro, y comparto mi trayectoria a través de charlas motivacionales ocasionales y mi trabajo creativo.
Alive Day Co. es para todos los sobrevivientes, no solo para los veteranos de guerra. Es para quienes han sufrido accidentes automovilísticos, enfermedades, lesiones, pérdidas, divorcios, cambios de trabajo y las batallas inesperadas de la vida. Esta marca combina resiliencia, gratitud y un toque de humor militar para recordarnos que la supervivencia en sí misma es algo que vale la pena honrar.

Alive Day Co. was born from my own Alive Day — January 15, 2007.
After 11 months of combat in southern Afghanistan, I was injured by a triple-stacked anti-tank mine buried beneath the ground. The blast changed everything in an instant. I suffered catastrophic injuries: multiple spinal cord injuries, a crushed pelvis separated from my spine, broken ribs, internal organ trauma, a fractured skull, and the loss of my right leg above the knee. Doctors initially told me I would never walk again. I spent the next two and a half years living at an Army hospital in Washington D.C. and endured 84 surgeries.
But that day didn’t become the end of my story — it became the beginning of a new one.
Today, I live for my family. I’m blessed with a loving wife and three incredible children, two of whom I welcomed into this world after my injury. I now serve as a high school teacher, striving to inspire young minds and prepare them for the future, and I share my journey through occasional motivational speaking and creative work.
Alive Day Co. is for "all survivors" — not just combat veterans. It’s for those who have endured car accidents, illness, injury, loss, divorce, job changes, and life’s unexpected battles. This brand blends resilience, gratitude, and a little military-style humor to remind us that survival itself is something worth honoring.
