Ubicado en el corazón de Bartlett, el estudio BMB Designs alberga la sala de clases, la tienda de suministros minoristas y el espacio de la galería para el artista e instructor Brandy Boyd.

Ofrece una amplia gama de clases, desde clases para principiantes de plata Art Clay, herrería básica de plata, hasta esmaltado, formación de pliegues y más. BMB Designs también lleva muchas de las herramientas y suministros para llevar lo que aprendes en clase más allá. Desde que abrimos nuestras puertas a finales del otoño de 2012, hemos aumentado la variedad de herramientas y materiales ofrecidos para incluir cristales Swarovski, herramientas de EuroTool y Beadsmith, Art Clay, arcilla metálica Prometheus, piedras preciosas semipreciosas cortadas artesanalmente, vidrio hecho a mano localmente y mucho más.

Brandy es un instructor senior certificado con Art Clay World, tiene certificación en New Mokume Gane, está certificado de nivel 2 por conexión PMC y ahora también es instructor de Prometheus. Ha estado enseñando arcilla metálica y otras técnicas de metales pequeños desde 2007.

Declaración del artista- Brandy M Boyd

He amado el arte desde que era un niño. Incluso si no entendía lo que significaba, disfrutaba de la forma en que me hacía sentir, cómo me hacía sentir una miríada de emociones y pensar todo tipo de pensamientos. Mis abuelos me animaron a ser un "hacedor", a jugar y a crear. Estoy seguro de que esos primeros proyectos no eran lo que cualquiera consideraría arte, pero inculcaron una apreciación por el proceso de hacer y crearon el hábito de la creatividad.

Estoy tan fascinado por los procesos como por las obras terminadas, así que estudié historia del arte en la universidad. Esto me introdujo a tantos estilos e influencias. Tejo fragmentos de lo visual, así como las influencias filosóficas de artistas y movimientos con los que me siento conectado. Suscribo la idea de que las cosas también deben durar: desprecio la naturaleza desechable de nuestra sociedad. Cuido mucho la artesanía de mi trabajo y la calidad de mis materiales.

Continúo el 'negocio familiar' de trabajar en el mundo técnico de día y tejer magia de noche (y los fines de semana). Mi objetivo, no solo en mi arte, sino también en mis interacciones con las personas, es hacer la vida más hermosa. Nosotros, como sociedad, centramos gran parte de nuestra energía en los "resultados" sin tener en cuenta el viaje. Para mí, el proceso de hacer una pieza es tan valioso como la pieza terminada y me apasiona ayudar a otros a conectarse con su creador interior. Nuestro bienestar como personas mejora con el acto de hacer: nuestras vidas se enriquecen y el mundo que nos rodea se vuelve más conectado.

En última instancia, así es como cambio el mundo y lo convierto en un lugar mejor: una obra de arte a la vez, una historia, una conexión.

Located in the heart of Bartlett, BMB Designs studio houses the class room, retail supply shop and gallery space for artist and instructor Brandy Boyd.

Offering a wide range of classes from Art Clay silver beginner classes, basic silver-smithing, to enameling, fold forming and more. BMB Designs also carries many of the tools and supplies to take what you learn in class further. Since we opened our doors in the late fall of 2012, we've increased the variety of tools and materials offered to include Swarovski crystals, tools from EuroTool and the Beadsmith, Art Clay, Prometheus metal clay, artisan cut semiprecious gemstones, locally crafted glass, and much more!

Brandy is a certified Senior Instructor with Art Clay World, has certification in New Mokume Gane, is Level 2 certified from PMC connection and is now also a Prometheus Instructor. She has been teaching metal clay and other small metals techniques since 2007.

Artist Statement- Brandy M Boyd

I have loved art since I was a child. Even if I didn’t understand what it meant, I enjoyed the way it made me feel- how it made me feel a myriad of emotions and think all kinds of thoughts. My grandparents encouraged me to be a ‘maker’- to tinker and to create. I’m sure those early projects weren’t what anyone would consider art, but they instilled an appreciation for the process of making and created the habit of creativity.

I am as fascinated by the processes as I am the finished works, so I studied art history in college. This introduced me to so many styles and influences. I weave bits and pieces of the visual as well as the philosophical influences of artists and movements that I feel connected to. I subscribe to the idea that things should be made to last as well- I despise the disposable nature of our society. I take great care in the craftsmanship of my work and the quality of my materials.

I continue the ‘family business’ of working in the technical world by day and weaving maker magic by night (and on the weekends). My goal, not just in my art, but also in my interactions with people, is to make life more beautiful. We, as a society, focus a lot of our energy on ‘results’ without taking into consideration the journey. For me, the process of making a piece is just as valuable as the finished piece and I am passionate about helping others connect to their inner maker. Our wellbeing as people is improved by the act of making- our lives are made richer and the world around us becomes more connected.

Ultimately, this is how I change the world and make it a better place- one piece of art at a time, one story, one connection.
