After years of practice, I developed an eye for vintage gems and a relentless passion for pursuing them.
Going shopping at a flea market was a family affair. Up to four generations of us could sweep a place in no time. We'd leave with unique vintage, antiques, and fancy wares that elevated our homes and enriched our lives. I loved the myriad of prints, textures, finishes, and most of all, the great unknown. Anything, it seemed, could be uncovered. The possibilities were endless, and affordable. I dreamed at night about finding jewels on vines and under leaves in a thrift jungle or sliding hangers across endless racks of gorgeous vintage dresses. Over the years, I became quite good at spotting the diamonds among the dust. No matter where life took me, I was always in a thrift store. In college, I worked in a thrift store. I studied Anthropology, a science largely centered around understanding people through the stuff they leave behind. As a young mother, I created a little home out of second hand items. As a performer, I searched for costume pieces there. The flow state I entered when sifting was second to none. I found myself buying things just because they were too good to pass up, but what would I do with all of it? Somewhere along the way, enough friends and family suggested that I start selling online that I created an Etsy account. Etsy was not yet a household name. I dipped my toe with a few items and slowly built the shop I own today. Going forward in 2026, I am focusing almost exclusively on natural fiber vintage. I was recently diagnosed with MCTD, an autoimmune disease that affects the skin. My personal need for skin friendly, breathable clothing has inspired my focus as a vintage seller. I couldn't be more excited with this new direction. Named for the the soft curves of old wood picture frames and the fray of your favorite jeans, Soft Edge Vintage is a woman owned and run shop full of carefully curated nostalgic favorites and fresh, new vintage.
