At CraftyCloth We create sustainable pieces with unique finishing touches.
Originally from Colombia, I arrived in England in 2001, and lived in London for six years before settling down in the North West of England. I retain strong Latin roots which are embodied in my designs. My love of bright colours and embellishments in fashion and textiles have been with me since childhood, when living with my inspirational grandmother, Lilia, a high-end seamstress and textiles artist.
My personal philosophy is creating a slow and sustainable high quality and timeless design pieces using upcycling techniques.
My aim is to focus on the quality of each piece, instead of producing high quantities.
Amid growing levels of protest against the disposable fast fashion world of today, the notion of quality prevailing over quantity is becoming lost.
I am enthusiastic about indigenous craftsmanship and handmade pieces.
Techniques which I continue to study and investigate are embroidery, weaving, patchwork, appliqué, sewing, and pattern design. I prefer to combine techniques as much as possible and explore these fields throughly.
We use high quality fabrics that are bought in small amounts, to ensure only a few of each style are ever made so as to ensure a degree of exclusivity to the wearer.
Our designs are for other creative minds. When you buy something from us, it's meant to last.
We use fabulous suiting wools from the west Yorkshire Vally, from companies 200 years old, and suppliers from mexico and Lima and other parts of South America to represent our identities of Colombian and British. We hope you love our designs enough to own them..
