ESO Elements aprovecha los recursos naturales de la Tierra (sus minerales, metales, plantas, animales y culturas del mundo) para crear joyas eclécticas, resistentes y orgánicas para quienes quieren destacarse del resto.
Cada pieza está hecha a mano con piedras semipreciosas de calidad, metales mixtos, huesos, conchas, coral y otros objetos naturales y encontrados. A menudo selecciono deliberadamente materiales crudos, ásperos y deformes porque encuentro belleza en lo imperfecto. Los defectos son como la huella dactilar de la naturaleza; el sello de que algo es real y orgánico, no plástico ni convencional. ¿Y acaso no queremos todos ser amados por nuestros defectos, en lugar de a pesar de ellos?
También busco objetos culturales antiguos como puntos focales. No solo es una forma de reciclaje, sino que me encanta la idea de que los seres humanos de todo el mundo compartan la necesidad de crear belleza, adornarse y dotar a las joyas de propósito, significado y ritual. Y me parece fascinante que tantos de los rasgos metafísicos atribuidos desde la antigüedad a ciertos materiales tengan su origen en propiedades científicas descubiertas recientemente.
Me encanta combinar lo antiguo con lo moderno, lo sofisticado con lo delicado, lo rústico con lo urbano, Oriente con Occidente. La fusión de texturas, colores y culturas crea una buena tensión que despierta los sentidos y abre la mente. Y eso es lo que la joyería ESO Elements busca: iniciar una conversación y contar una historia.

SOBRE EL DISEÑADOR Y CREADOR
Soy Kimberly Singleton, y mi trayectoria es tan diversa como la de mis obras. Formada como arqueóloga, con títulos en Arqueología del Cercano Oriente e historia de Francia e Inglaterra de los siglos XVIII y XIX, he trabajado durante 25 años como Desarrolladora de Exposiciones para museos, jardines botánicos e instituciones culturales de todo el mundo.
¿Qué es un Desarrollador de Exposiciones? Un narrador. Mi función es trabajar con científicos y diseñadores para contar la historia de una planta, un animal, una roca o una cultura de forma que el público pueda absorberla y conectar emocionalmente con ella. Utilizo estas mismas habilidades para la joyería: viajo por el mundo, busco materiales, elaboro cada pieza y comparto su historia de origen en la descripción de la pieza.
ORÍGENES DE ESO ELEMENTS
Como muchos negocios de Etsy, ESO Elements, LLC es fruto de la pandemia. Tras seis años viviendo y viajando entre Oslo, Noruega, y Chicago, mi marido y yo nos vimos repentinamente atrapados en casa. Para darme un poco más de alegría y esperanza, decidí reavivar mi pasión por la joyería.
Por suerte, había acumulado provisiones y tesoros de mis viajes: colgantes brutalistas escandinavos encontrados en mercadillos de Oslo, adornos para bridas británicos encontrados en Tucson, cuentas tribales compradas en Estambul y más. Todo esto lo he usado en la colección ESO Elements, incluyendo las series Brass+Brand, Scandinavia+Sea y otras.
En diciembre de 2024, nos mudamos nuevamente a Oslo y ahora estoy trabajando arduamente en mis nuevos diseños centrados en el estilo escandinavo, así como en mis otros estilos internacionales e históricos. ¡Así que estén atentos para conocer más piezas nuevas!

ESO Elements harnesses Earth’s natural resources—its minerals, metals, plants, animals, and world cultures—to create eclectic, strong, organic jewelry for those who want to stand out from the crowd.
Each piece is handcrafted of quality semi-precious stones, mixed metals, bones, shells, coral, and other natural and found objects. I often deliberately pick raw, rough, and misshapen materials because I find beauty in the imperfect. Flaws are like nature’s thumbprint; the stamp that something is real and organic, not plastic and cookie-cutter. And don’t we all want to be loved for our flaws, rather than in spite of them?
I also source vintage cultural objects as focal points. Not only is this a form of recycling, but I love the idea that humans worldwide share the need to create beauty, adorn themselves, and imbue jewelry with purpose, meaning, and ritual. And I find it fascinating that so many of the metaphysical traits attributed since ancient times to certain materials have roots in scientific properties discovered only recently.
I especially love to blend antique with new, hard-edged with soft, rustic with urbane, and East with West. The mashup between textures, colors, and cultures creates a good kind of tension—one that wakes up the senses and opens the mind. And that’s what ESO Elements jewelry is designed to do: start a conversation and tell a story.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER & MAKER
I’m Kimberly Singleton, and my background is as diverse as that of my pieces. Trained as an archaeologist with degrees in Near Eastern Archaeology and the history of 18th and 19th-century France and England, I’ve spent 25 years as an Exhibit Developer for museums, botanical gardens, and cultural institutions all around the globe.
So what’s an Exhibit Developer? A storyteller. My role is to work with scientists and designers to tell the tale of a plant, animal, rock, or culture in a way that the public can absorb and emotionally connect with. I use these same set of skills for jewelry-making as I travel the globe, source materials, craft each piece, and share its origin story in its listing description.
ESO ELEMENTS' ORIGINS
Like many Etsy businesses, ESO Elements, LLC is a product of the pandemic. After having spent six years living in and traveling between Oslo, Norway and Chicago, my husband and I suddenly found ourselves grounded at home. To bring myself a little more joy and hope, I decided to reignite my love for jewelry-making.
Luckily, I’d stockpiled supplies and treasures from my travels: Scandinavian Brutalist pendants picked up at Oslo flea markets, British bridle ornaments found in Tucson, tribal beads bought in Istanbul, and more. All of these I’ve used in the ESO Elements collection, including the Brass+Brand series, the Scandinavia+Sea series, and others.
In December 2024, we moved back to Oslo, and I'm now hard at work on my new, Scandi-centric designs, as well as my other international and historic styles—so stay tuned for more new pieces!
