My main goal is only one: to bring beauty into people’s homes and into everyday life.

In the beginning.

Hi, my name is Guido and I am a ceramist.
At the age of 25 I arrived at a monastery in northern Italy, in search of a free port, free from the chaos and jungle of the world.

I spent two and a half years of my life there.
By chance and not wanted by me, I was assigned as a place of work the ceramics workshop.
And that’s where everything was born, that passion became part of me and that continues to be an influential part of my daily life, now almost like an obsession.

After realizing that my life was not within the walls of a monastery, I returned to my land, the Monferrato.
But that experience had left a mark, a very precise trace that I knew I had to follow.
Following various requests for places to start my business I found a place, perhaps the ideal one although temporary, that still hosts me.
My workshop is located among the sweet lands of Monferrato in the cellar of an enchanted farmhouse on top of a hill.
It too can be defined as a community in all respects, born in the '70s in the wake of many in those years.

My work in two words

I create objects of everyday use and furnishings in stoneware and porcelain, trying to communicate the traits of oriental aesthetics with a more functional style of western mold.

My inspiring principles derive from the Mingei movement, originally from Japan, which promotes the creation and use of objects that are not only practical but also aesthetically beautiful, that combine efficiency and austere simplicity, accessible to all.

The processing techniques that I mainly use are two : the potter's wheel, which I use for almost all my creations and the plate.

I believe that, once you have acquired the competence and your mastery, at least minimal, is able to give a deep sense of peace and satisfaction.

Once finished I proceed with the glazing.
I personally mix every nail polish that will then be applied on the piece, made porous by the first firing , through immersion or dripping.

The charm of this process is accomplished in its final phase, the opening of the furnace, a moment highly anticipated by the ceramist, because it completes and crowns all the efforts of the previous processing phases, by giving him his finished creation, which is just waiting to be shared.

My main goal is only one: to bring beauty into people’s homes and into everyday life.

Because even the smallest details matter and indeed they are just those that can improve, day after day, in our daily rituality, our life.
