Ciao, sono Gemma. La designer, maker e volto di Gemma Keith Designs. Ho iniziato la mia attività nel 2017, disegnando e dipingendo stampe da vendere. Da allora la mia gamma di prodotti si è ampliata in modo fantastico. Ora vendo una vasta gamma di tessuti e regali ai negozi di tutto il Kent e occasionalmente alla fiera locale.
Sono un artista formato da Marden, Kent, dove ho iniziato il mio viaggio creativo presso UCA Maidstone dove mi sono specializzato in moda e tessuti. Sapevo di poter dipingere anche se volevo qualcosa di più di un'opera d'arte appesa. È qui che è entrato in gioco il design tessile. Sono stato in grado di trasferire le mie illustrazioni e pennellate audaci su oggetti energici come sciarpe e carta da parati. Ho poi continuato a studiare BA Textile Design presso l'Università delle Arti di Londra, Chelsea per tre anni.
Dopo la laurea, ho iniziato a lavorare per alcune aziende creative e non creative. Anche se volevo sviluppare ulteriormente il mio lato creativo. Così ho deciso di spingere le mie creazioni e sviluppare la mia attività. Un anno dopo, è stata la migliore decisione di carriera che ho preso.
Hi, I'm Gemma. The designer, maker and face of Gemma Keith Designs. I started my business in 2017, drawing and painting prints to sell. Since then my range of products have fantastically expanded. I now sell a range of textiles and gifts to shops around Kent and at the occasional local fair.
I am a trained artist from Marden, Kent where I started my creative journey at UCA Maidstone where I specialised in Fashion and Textiles. I knew I could paint though I wanted something more than a hanging artwork. That's where textile design came in. I was able to transfer my illustrations and bold brush strokes onto energetic items like scarves and wallpaper. I then went on to study BA Textile Design at University of the Arts London, Chelsea for three years.
After graduating, I started working for a few creative and non-creative companies. Though I wanted to develop my creative side further. So I decided to push my own creations and develop my own business. A year on, it was the best career decision I have made.
