I was born in Manduria in the province of Taranto and since I was a child I have shown a strong propensity for artistic activities. I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lecce and I taught in the Art Institutes of Cortina d'Ampezzo, Grottaglie and finally in the Art School of Taranto and Manduria.
Today, as a pensioner, I continue to devote myself to artistic activity in my workshop in Manduria where I create paintings and especially plastics in papier-mâché and ceramics.
My creations, modeled entirely by my hands, tell scenes of the nativity with shepherds in ancient customs and local traditions caught in the act of exercising the now obsolete crafts and represent delicious statues of various sizes of Saints and Madonnas to be placed in glass bells.
The technique used for the realization of the crib figures is the Apulian papier-mâché that has traditionally had Lecce as its main production center and which is currently widespread expanding far beyond the territorial limits of Salento.
Over the years I have exhibited my works at exhibitions and events especially dedicated to Christmas. In particular, I am present every year in December at the Fiera di Santa Lucia in Lecce (known to most with the ancient name Fiera dei Pupi)

Sono nato a Manduria in provincia di Taranto e sin da piccolo ho manifestato una forte propensione per le attività artistiche. Ho studiato all’𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐚 𝐝𝐢 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢 𝐝𝐢 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐜𝐞 e ho insegnato negli Istituti d’Arte di Cortina d’Ampezzo, di Grottaglie e infine nel Liceo Artistico di Taranto e di Manduria.
Oggi, da pensionato, continuo a dedicarmi all'attività artistica nel mio laboratorio a 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐚 dove realizzo opere pittoriche e soprattutto plastiche in 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚 𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐚.
Le mie creazioni, 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢, raccontano scene della 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐚̀ con pastori negli antichi costumi e tradizioni locali colti nell’atto di esercitare i 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐢 𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐢 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐭𝐢 e rappresentano deliziose statuine di varia grandezza di 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢 𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞 da collocare in campane di vetro.
La tecnica utilizzata per la realizzazione delle figure presepiali è la 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚 𝐩𝐮𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬𝐞 che ha avuto tradizionalmente Lecce come principale centro produttivo e che attualmente è diffusa allargandosi ben oltre i limiti territoriali del Salento.
Negli anni ho esposto le mie opere a mostre ed eventi soprattutto dedicati al 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞. In particolare sono presente ogni anno nel mese di Dicembre alla Fiera di Santa Lucia a Lecce (nota ai più con l'antico nome Fiera dei Pupi)
