Por que bordar, você pergunta? Anos depois de perder minha mãe, ter os pertences dela ajudou a me sentir mais próximo dela, e fiquei especialmente apegado às coisas que ela criou ou escreveu.
Desejando ter mais dela, comecei a pensar em como poderia deixar pedaços de mim mesmo para meus dois filhos (um dia, em um futuro distante). Tendo mais tempo em casa durante o auge do COVID em 2020, aprendi a bordar roupas de bebê, cobertores e tudo o mais que pude encontrar. Este novo hobby despertou uma paixão dentro de mim e não larguei a agulha desde então.

Why embroidery, you ask? Years after losing my mom, having belongings of hers helped make me feel closer to her, and I was especially attached to things she created or wrote.
Wishing I had more from her, I began thinking about how I could leave pieces of myself behind for my two young boys (one day in the distant future). Having extra time at home during the height of COVID in 2020, I learned to embroider their baby clothes, blankets, and anything else I could get my hands on. This new hobby ignited a passion within me and I haven't put my needle down since.
