Mi chiamo Kelly Elizabeth e sono la titolare di Handcrafted Salt Walls. Questa è la storia di come è nato il nostro negozio e del perché realizziamo ogni pannello di sale in questo modo.
Tutto è iniziato circa dieci anni fa. Non cercavo un'attività in proprio. Ero una persona normale, alle prese con un po' di stress e alla ricerca di un modo per sentirmi meglio a casa. Un giorno un amico mi portò in una piccola spa. C'era una parete fatta di mattoni di sale himalayano con delle luci dietro. La stanza era calda e rilassante. Mi sedetti lì per un po' e respirai meglio. L'aria sembrava più pulita. Quando uscii, mi sentivo diversa, in senso positivo. Chiesi al proprietario informazioni sulla parete. Mi disse che era fatta di vero sale proveniente dalle montagne e che emetteva ioni naturali benefici. Ne volli subito una anche per casa mia.
Ho cercato online e ho comprato un piccolo pannello di sale. Arrivava a pezzi ed era difficile da assemblare. Alcuni mattoni non si incastravano bene. La luce non funzionava bene. L'insieme sembrava di scarsa qualità. Ero deluso. Ma l'idea mi è rimasta in testa. Continuavo a pensare che doveva esserci un modo migliore per realizzare queste pareti. Così ho iniziato in piccolo, nel mio garage a Savannah, in Georgia. Ho comprato qualche sacco di mattoni di sale e un po' di legno. Ho provato diversi modi di posare i blocchi. Alcuni pannelli si sono rotti. Alcuni sembravano irregolari. Ho passato notti a leggere sul sale e a testare le luci. Ci sono voluti mesi di tentativi e correzioni prima che qualcosa avesse un aspetto decente.
È così che è nato il nostro metodo esclusivo per la costruzione di muri di sale. Abbiamo scoperto che, costruendo la struttura nel modo giusto, l'aria può raggiungere sia la parte anteriore che quella posteriore di ogni mattone. Questo permette al sale di sfruttare al meglio le sue proprietà benefiche quando le luci sono accese. Ora è un nostro metodo esclusivo. Nessun altro lo fa esattamente come noi. Selezioniamo a mano ogni singolo mattone da grandi carichi provenienti dalle montagne. Cerchiamo mattoni di un bel colore, della giusta dimensione e forma. Scartiamo quelli incrinati o fragili. Solo i migliori vengono utilizzati per i nostri muri.
Negli anni successivi ho continuato a imparare. Ho realizzato pannelli più grandi. Ho testato diverse luci e fili. Ho capito come rendere il tutto robusto in modo che durasse per anni. Gli amici hanno iniziato a chiedermi pareti di sale come la mia. Poi gli amici degli amici. La voce si è sparsa lentamente. Un giorno un medico della città mi ha chiesto se potevo realizzare un pannello per la sua sala d'attesa. Ho detto di sì. Gli è piaciuto moltissimo. Dopo di che, altri medici e centri benessere mi hanno contattato. Ora le nostre pareti di sale si trovano in uffici e centri benessere in tutto il paese. Alcune sono in grandi città, altre in piccoli paesi. Ognuna è nata allo stesso modo: qualcuno ha visto la luce rilassante e ha desiderato ricreare quella sensazione nel proprio spazio.
Oggi abbiamo aiutato migliaia di clienti. Ognuno di loro ci sta a cuore. Molti ci scrivono dopo aver ricevuto la loro parete. Ci raccontano come ha cambiato l'atmosfera della loro casa o del loro ufficio. Alcuni dicono che dormono meglio. Altri che l'aria è più fresca. Leggiamo ogni messaggio. Ricordiamo i nomi. Quando un cliente torna per una seconda o una terza parete, ci riempie di gioia. Non si tratta solo di vendere. Si tratta di sapere che il pannello che abbiamo costruito a mano ora fa parte della loro vita quotidiana.
Anche dopo sei anni su Etsy e centinaia di vendite, gestisco ancora personalmente ogni ordine. Controllo ogni singolo mattone prima di inserirlo nel pannello. Poso ogni blocco a mano. Testo le luci. Imballo la scatola con la massima cura affinché nulla si muova durante la spedizione. Se qualcosa non va, lo sistemo prima che il pacco lasci il mio negozio. Voglio che ogni cliente riceva esattamente ciò che si aspetta.
Realizziamo ancora i popolari muri di sale 3x4 che molti ci richiedono. Ognuno viene costruito blocco per blocco. Seguiamo gli stessi passaggi meticolosi che abbiamo imparato all'inizio. I materiali che utilizziamo sono sempre i migliori che riusciamo a trovare. Nulla viene affrettato. Crediamo che questo metodo lento sia quello giusto.
Quando il pannello è pronto, lo spediamo rapidamente. Ogni ordine viene spedito con assicurazione completa. Utilizziamo scatole robuste e un imballaggio accurato per garantire che il pannello arrivi a destinazione integro. Monitoriamo la spedizione in ogni fase. In caso di problemi, interveniamo immediatamente.
Questo negozio è nato perché mi sono innamorato di ciò che una semplice parete di sale poteva fare. Volevo condividere quella sensazione con gli altri. Volevo creare pannelli migliori di quelli che avevo acquistato inizialmente. Attraverso anni di studio e sperimentazione, abbiamo trovato il nostro metodo per realizzarli. Ora medici e proprietari di centri benessere si affidano a noi. Famiglie installano le nostre pareti nei loro salotti. Migliaia di persone hanno portato uno dei nostri pannelli nei loro spazi e ci hanno detto che le ha aiutate.

My name is Kelly Elizabeth. I own Handcrafted Salt Walls. This is the story of how our shop started and why we make every salt panel the way we do.
It began about ten years ago. I was not looking for a business. I was just a regular person dealing with some stress and looking for ways to feel better at home. A friend took me to a small spa one day. They had a wall made of Himalayan salt bricks with lights behind it. The room felt warm and calm. I sat there for a while and breathed easier. The air seemed cleaner. When I left, I felt different in a good way. I asked the owner about the wall. He said it was made from real salt from the mountains and it put out natural ions that help people. I wanted one for my own house right away.
I looked online and bought a small salt panel. It came in pieces and was hard to put together. Some bricks did not fit right. The light did not work well. The whole thing felt cheap. I was disappointed. But the idea stuck with me. I kept thinking there had to be a better way to make these walls. So I started small in my garage in Savannah, Georgia. I bought a few bags of salt bricks and some wood. I tried different ways to lay the blocks. Some panels fell apart. Some looked uneven. I spent nights reading about salt and testing lights. It took months of trying and fixing mistakes before anything looked right.
That is how our proprietary way of making salt walls was born. We learned that if you build the frame just right, air can reach both the front and the back of every brick. This lets the natural benefits of the salt work their best when the lights are on. It is our own method now. No one else does it exactly like us. We pick each brick by hand from big shipments that come from the mountains. We look for bricks that have good color and the right size and shape. We set aside any that are cracked or weak. Only the best ones go into our walls.
Over the next few years I kept learning. I made bigger panels. I tested different lights and wires. I figured out how to make the whole thing strong so it would last for years. Friends started asking for walls like mine. Then friends of friends. Word spread slowly. One day a doctor in town asked if I could make a panel for his waiting room. I said yes. He loved it. After that, more doctors and spas reached out. Now our salt walls are in offices and spas all across the country. Some are in big cities. Some are in small towns. Each one started the same way — someone saw the calm glow and wanted that feeling in their space.
Today we have helped thousands of customers. We hold every one of them dear. Many write to us after their wall arrives. They tell us how it changed the feel of their home or office. Some say their sleep got better. Some say the air feels fresher. We read every message. We remember the names. When a customer comes back for a second or third wall, it makes us smile. It is not just about selling. It is about knowing the panel we built by hand is now part of their daily life.
Even after six years on Etsy and hundreds of sales, I still handle every order myself. I check each brick before it goes in the panel. I lay every block by hand. I test the lights. I pack the box with extra care so nothing moves during shipping. If something is not right, I fix it before it leaves my shop. I want every customer to get exactly what they expect.
We still make the popular 3x4 salt walls that many people ask for. Each one is built block by block. We use the same careful steps we learned in the beginning. The materials are always the best we can find. Nothing is rushed. We believe this slow way is the right way.
