From leaves to jewellery
La storia inizia mezzo secolo fa in un giardino. Da bambina, passavo ore in cima a un enorme ciliegio, nascosto nel fogliame, per leggere, sognare, immaginare mille cose che avrei fatto più tardi ...
Più tardi è arrivato, ho potuto realizzare una parte dei miei progetti e amo ancora gli alberi. Infine, una "sete" di creatività mi ha portato dove mi trovo ora: nel mio "modesto laboratorio d'arte", nel mio studio, dove le mie foglie di gioielli prendono vita!
Da sempre sono affascinato dalla sottigliezza e dalla perfezione delle foglie: le contemplo, le annuso, le accarezzo. Nella mia borsa, porto una secateurs e spesso torno a casa con un fascio di foglie o un ramo caduto.
Cercavo come custodirne e preservarne la bellezza, ingrandirli e indossarli, ho provato mille materiali e tecniche. E finalmente ho trovato...
Ogni foglia è unica come un'impronta digitale. I miei gioielli sono tutti pezzi unici, modellati su foglie fresche, pigmentati, smaltati e montati con materiali naturali. Ho volutamente rinunciato ad utilizzare poliestere, polimeri e altre plastiche, indubbiamente meno fragili, certo, ma non abbastanza vivaci sulla mia idea.
Foglie e insetti sono fatti di porcellana. Le scatole, le realizzo con materiali riciclati, carta fatta a mano, tessuti antichi, vecchie lettere e documenti (almeno centenario...). Legni, corteccia e tesori forestali diventano parte delle mie composizioni. Ogni oggetto che esce dal mio studio ha una storia da raccontare...
Tutto è colorato con pigmenti naturali, piante, inchiostri, spezie, cenere, cera o lamina d'oro...
Mi piace usare perle di pietra semipreziosa, lava, conchiglie, perle d'acqua dolce... e le perle di vetro provengono da gioielli vintage accuratamente smontati.
Bene, per la vetratura, il montaggio, il fissaggio (fermagli, cavo, filo, ecc.), Uso nuove forniture. Tuttavia!

Later came, I could realize a part of my projects and I still love trees. Finally, a "thirst" of creativity brought me to where I stand now : in my "atelier d'art modeste", my studio, where my jewellery-leaves come alive !
Since ever, I've been fascinated by the subtlety and the perfection of leaves : I contemplate them, I sniff them, I fondle them. In my purse, I carry a secateurs and I often come home with a bundles of leaves or a fallen branch.
I was seeking how to keep and preserve their beauty, to magnify and to wear them, I tried thousand materials and techniques. And finally I found...
Each leaf is as unique as a fingerprint. My jewellery are all one-of-a-kind pieces, moulded on fresh leaves, pigmented, glazed and mounted with natural materials. I deliberately renounced to use polyester, polymers and other plastics, undoubtedly less fragile, certainly, but not enough lively on my idea.
Leaves and insects are made of porcelain. The boxes, I make them with recycled materials, handmade paper, antique fabrics, old letters and document (at least centenary...). Driftwood, bark and forest-treasures become part of my compositions. Each object leaving my studio has a story to tell...
Everything is colored with natural pigments, plants, inks, spices, ash, wax or gold foil...
I like to use semi-precious stone beads, lava, shells, freshwater pearls... and the glass beads come from carefully disassembled vintage jewellery.
Well, for glazing, mounting, fastening (clasps, cable, wire, etc.), I use new supplies. Quand même !
