La fundadora de JP MAROU, Nneka J. Penniston, nació en Trinidad y Tobago y se mudó a Brooklyn, Nueva York, en abril de 1996. Allí, bajo la amorosa tutela de su abuela, tomó en serio la salud, el fitness y la moda, soñando con ropa deportiva cómoda y usable para mujeres.
En 2022, tras un viaje transformador a Río de Janeiro para el primer Carnaval pospandémico de Brasil, nació JP MAROU. Su comunidad de mujeres poderosas necesitaba ropa deportiva tan fuerte y dinámica como ellas: prendas que potenciaran el movimiento y aportaran ritmo al bienestar. ¿La misión? Despertar la pasión de cada mujer para moverse y sentirse al máximo. El logo de la apasionada bailarina invita a cada mujer a expresar su pasión, fuerza y sabiduría.
CODE FASHIONABLY, la marca hermana, fusiona la pasión de Nneka por la moda con la ciencia de datos. Creados a partir de conjuntos de datos reales de comercio minorista y aprendizaje automático (presentados en el libro Code Fashionably en Amazon), los diseños celebran el estilo y la resolución de problemas para programadores y analistas.

The founder of JP MAROU, Nneka J. Penniston, was born in Trinidad and Tobago and moved to Brooklyn, New York, in April 1996. There, under her grandmother's loving tutelage, she took health, fitness, and fashion seriously—dreaming of wearable, comfortable fitness clothing for women.
In 2022, after a life-changing trip to Rio de Janeiro for Brazil’s first post-pandemic Carnaval, JP MAROU was born. Her community of powerful women needed activewear as strong and dynamic as they are: clothing that enhances movement and adds rhythm to wellness. The mission? Ignite the fire within all women to move and feel their best. The impassioned dancer logo invites every woman to express her natural fire, strength, and wisdom.
CODE FASHIONABLY, the sister brand, blends Nneka's fashion passion with data science. Born from real retail datasets and machine learning (featured in the Code Fashionably book on Amazon), designs celebrate style + problem-solving for programmers and analysts.
