He tenido el privilegio de vivir en todo Estados Unidos e internacionalmente. Me he aventurado desde el rústico paisaje urbano de Chicago hasta el árido y escarpado desierto alto de California, las llanuras abiertas de Oklahoma hasta el icónico Océano Pacífico en Monterey, California. He vivido en lo profundo del corazón de la capital americana y en la capital mundial del asesinato, El Salvador. Actualmente vivo en Asunción, Paraguey, en el corazón de América del Sur. En todas partes donde he tenido el privilegio de vivir me ha cambiado y fortalecido mi visión artística.
Tengo una profunda reverencia por cada lugar que he vivido y experimentado. Lo que he descubierto es que no importa dónde viva en el mundo, el desierto alto y estéril o detrás de los altos muros de hormigón del lugar más peligroso del mundo, hay belleza por todas partes. Mi arte captura la belleza discreta y obvia de la vida cotidiana: las telas que cubren nuestros cuerpos y hogares, la arena urbana de una ciudad y la belleza verde y floral que se abre paso a través de las altas paredes de la vida en El Salvador.
I have had the privilege to live all over the United States and internationally. I have ventured from the rustic urban landscape of Chicago to the barren and rugged high desert of California, the open plains of Oklahoma to the iconic Pacific Ocean in Monterey, California. I have lived deep in the heart of the American Capital and in the murder capital of the world, El Salvador. I am currently living in Asunción, Paraguey in the heart of South America. Everywhere I have had the privilege to live has changed me and strengthened my artistic vision.
I have a deep reverence for each place that I have lived and experienced. What I have found is that no matter where I live in the world, the barren high desert or behind the high concrete walls of the most dangerous place in the world, there is beauty all around. My art captures the discrete and obvious beauty of everyday life: the fabrics that drape our bodies and homes, the urban grit of a city, and the green and floral beauty that finds it way through the high walls of living in El Salvador.
