About

Alessandro Mangione, 37 years old (born March 12, 1982), Italian painter born in Salento in southern Italy. He attended the art school of Lecce and completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts of Lecce. Today he is fully dedicated to the art of painting, as well as developing a style that distinguishes him both on the national stage and on the international scene of the 21st century.

The replacement of the white canvas is the starting point of personal painting and free from the artist's schemes.
The materials, in the artist's stylistic research, are the most disparate. They come from recycling, from use and disuse: from packaging material, to an old puzzle, from old clothes to curtains and nets and on these, or even through, figures and strokes of color stand out.
Fabric and textures reveal and compose landscapes and faces. The representation becomes matter and the material in turn composes windows that look out on universes and inner realities.
The basis on which to impress reality is not a canvas or a white support but fabric and material that has a lived and familiar shape.
Close up, Alessandro Mangione's works are tactile. The color lines follow the texture of the base and give life to a game between the figure of the plot and the figures of the representation.
