MechEDC Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Mechlone Technologies, LLC, doing business as MechEDC (“MechEDC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and retains personal information when you purchase an item from us, contact us, or otherwise use our services through Etsy.com and its related services.
This Privacy Policy applies to information that MechEDC receives as an independent Etsy seller. It does not apply to the privacy practices of Etsy or other third parties that we do not own or control. Please review Etsy’s own Privacy Policy for information about how Etsy collects, uses, and shares personal information.
1. Information We Collect
To process and fulfill your order, Etsy may provide us with certain information, including:
• Your name
• Email address
• Shipping and billing address
• Telephone number, when needed for delivery
• Details of the product you ordered
• Order, transaction, and shipping information
• Messages or other information you provide through Etsy
You may also provide additional personal information when requesting a customized product, asking a question, reporting a problem, or contacting us regarding an order.
Payments are processed through Etsy or its payment providers. MechEDC does not receive or retain your full credit-card or payment-account details.
2. Why We Need Your Information and How We Use It
We rely on the following legal grounds to collect, use, retain, and share personal information:
Performance of a contract. We use your information as necessary to process and fulfill your order, provide shipping and tracking, communicate about your purchase, provide customer service, handle returns or refunds, and resolve disputes.
Legal obligations. We may use and retain information when necessary to comply with tax, accounting, customs, consumer-protection, product-safety, court-order, or other legal requirements.
Legitimate interests. We may use information when necessary for our legitimate business interests, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights. These interests include operating and improving our shop, preventing fraud, protecting our legal rights, maintaining transaction records, responding to customer-service issues, and complying with Etsy’s Seller Policy and Terms of Use.
Consent. When legally required, we will rely on your affirmative consent for a particular use of your information. You may withdraw that consent at any time.
3. Marketing Communications
We do not use information received from an Etsy transaction to send unsolicited advertisements or promotional messages.
We will not add you to an email, text-message, or physical mailing list unless you have separately and expressly agreed to receive marketing communications from us.
You may withdraw marketing consent at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in the communication or contacting us using the information below. Withdrawing consent does not affect order-related, customer-service, safety, recall, or legally required communications.
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
Customer information is important to our business. We share personal information only for limited reasons and circumstances, including:
Etsy. We share information with Etsy when necessary to operate our shop, complete Etsy transactions, provide customer support, resolve disputes, and comply with Etsy’s policies and terms.
Shipping and fulfillment providers. We may share names, delivery addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, order details, and customs information with delivery companies, postal services, shipping-label platforms, and fulfillment providers. These may include ShipStation, USPS, UPS, FedEx, and international postal or courier services. Information is shared only to the extent reasonably necessary to prepare, ship, deliver, insure, track, or resolve problems with an order.
Professional service providers. We may share limited information with accountants, tax professionals, legal advisers, information-technology providers, insurers, or other professional service providers when reasonably necessary to operate our business or comply with legal obligations.
Compliance with laws. We may collect, use, retain, or disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to respond to legal process or government requests; comply with applicable laws; enforce our agreements and policies; investigate fraud, security problems, or illegal activity; or protect the rights, property, and safety of MechEDC, our customers, or others.
Business transfers. If MechEDC or Mechlone Technologies, LLC is sold, merged, reorganized, or transferred, customer information may be disclosed as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell Etsy buyer information to third parties.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy.
We generally retain order-related records for approximately four years after completion of the transaction. Certain information may be retained longer when reasonably necessary to comply with tax, accounting, customs, product-safety, warranty, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other legal obligations.
When information is no longer required, we will delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it where reasonably practicable.
6. Transfers Outside the European Economic Area
MechEDC is operated from the United States. As a result, personal information relating to buyers in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, or other locations may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries.
Privacy and government-access laws in those countries may differ from the laws in your country.
When applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we rely on legally recognized mechanisms made available by Etsy or our relevant service providers, which may include adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or transfers necessary to perform the transaction requested by you.
Etsy separately describes the safeguards it uses for international transfers in Etsy’s Privacy Policy. Etsy currently states that it uses mechanisms including European Commission adequacy decisions and Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, including if you live in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have some or all of the following rights:
Access. You may request confirmation of whether we process your personal information and request a copy of information we hold about you.
Correction. You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
Deletion. You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to exceptions where retention is required or permitted for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute, safety, or other legitimate reasons.
Restriction. You may request that we restrict certain processing of your information.
Objection. You may object to processing based on our legitimate interests. You may object at any time to the use of your information for direct marketing.
Portability. Where applicable, you may request certain information in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
Withdrawal of consent. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing completed before consent was withdrawn.
Complaint. You may lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority responsible for your country or region.
These rights may be subject to legal limitations. We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request.
For information held directly by Etsy, including Etsy account information or payment records, you may need to contact Etsy or submit a request through your Etsy privacy settings.
GDPR rights are not absolute in every situation; for example, deletion may not be required when records must be retained to satisfy a legal obligation.
8. Information Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
However, no internet transmission, electronic storage system, or method of communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our Etsy shop and services are not intended to collect personal information directly from children. Orders should be placed by an adult or by a person legally permitted to enter into the transaction.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate authorization, please contact us.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our business practices, legal obligations, Etsy requirements, or service providers.
When we make changes, we will update the effective date and publish the revised policy through our Etsy shop.
