Annuncio   MeDeA produces alpaca knitwear dyed with herbs and cochineal. I learned the natural dyeing tecnique in Bolivia, that's why I only use first quality bolivian alpaca wool for my collections. All my outfits are organic. Alpaca wool I use is partly hand-spun or machine spun, but never contains chemicals. For dyeing I use herbs form Bolivian Highlands and cochineal. Every year I spend some monthes in Bolivia to follow up the production of MeDeA knitwear. I personally design the collections and I personally dye wool with the help of Dona Clotilde. I redescovered the ancient dyeing recipes of natural dyeing tradition, experimenting herbs during two years. Natural dyed colours are very different from the chemical ones. They have a kind of third dimension and they vibrate. They are alive and give a sense of wellness. Knitting is partly hand made and partly machine made. I work with Bolivian women knitters. I started this adventure in 2001 after a work in Bolivia for an Italian NGO and then decide to start my own project. MeDeA is Italian style made in Bolivia.
