Hi, I'm the creator of Pixie Frog HQ.
I started keeping African Bullfrogs (Pixie Frogs) over 17 years ago and quickly realized that much of the care advice available online was inconsistent, oversimplified, or focused on minimum survival rather than long-term health and natural behavior.
Over the years, I've spent thousands of hours researching, observing, and refining husbandry techniques across different enclosure designs, feeding approaches, and environmental systems. Through that experience, I developed a simple philosophy:
"We control the environment so the frog can control itself."
Pixie Frog HQ is built around creating stable, naturalistic environments that allow frogs to regulate temperature, hydration, feeding behavior, and activity levels the way they were designed to.
