En Remake the Old (RMTO), doy nueva vida a artículos viejos y usados mediante el reciclaje y el bordado a mano. Al bordar una variedad de diseños en prendas usadas y queridas, creo artículos sostenibles y únicos para ti que son verdaderamente únicos. ¡Espero que estos artículos te traigan alegría a ti, a tu familia y a tus amigos!
Cuando era niña, mi abuela nos enseñó a mi hermana y a mí a hacer punto de cruz. Me encantaba crear y coser pequeños patrones. A medida que crecí, dejé la costura y comencé a dedicarme a otros pasatiempos. En 2022, me interesé en aprender a bordar. Mi cuñada bordaba hermosos diseños botánicos en sus jeans y yo quería aprender a hacer lo mismo. Mi abuela, costurera de toda la vida, estaba tan emocionada que para mi cumpleaños me compró todo lo que necesitaba para empezar a bordar! El invierno siguiente, comencé a bordar regalos para familiares y amigos en ropa usada. ¿Por qué ropa usada? Siempre me ha gustado conservar y la idea de crear algo nuevo a partir de algo viejo. Mi esposo, siempre emprendedor, me animó a convertir esto en un negocio. ¡En la primavera de 2023, comenzó Remake the Old!
At Remake the Old (RMTO), I give old and used items new life through upcycling and hand embroidery. By embroidering a variety of designs onto gently used, preloved clothing, I create sustainable, unique items for you that are truly one-of-a-kind! I hope these items bring joy to you and your family and friends!
As a child, my grandmother taught my sister and me to cross-stitch. I used to love creating and stitching little patterns. As I got older, I dropped off stitching and took up other hobbies. Fast forward to 2022, I became interested in learning embroidery. My sister-in-law would embroider beautiful, botanical patterns on her jeans, and I wanted to learn to do the same. My grandmother, a life-time stitcher, was so excited that for my birthday she bought me everything I needed to get started with embroidery! The following winter, I started embroidering gifts for family and friends onto used clothing. Why used clothing? I have always loved conserving and the idea of creating something new out of something old. My husband, ever the entrepreneur, encouraged me that I could turn this into a business. In the spring of 2023, Remake the Old began!
