How we started
Welcome to our shop!
A little back story on how we started :)
2017- The shop started with the name of Project Maker Studio, I started this shop at the age of 18 eager to share my creations. I love to design and sew bags, so that is what I shared when I first started. I have a mission to sew one of a kind pieces with the highest quality materials I could find. I am lucky enough to live in NYC, so I have access to the Garment District, opening my accessibility to high quality, unique hardware and materials. During the first months I sold Frida tote bags and some small fabric cubed keychains. While learning how to use Etsy, I also began to purse a degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
2018-2019 - I attended Fashion Institute of Technology in the Fashion Design Degree program. I've spent a total of 4 semesters learning what it takes to bring a garment to life. On 2019, I graduated the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree of Fashion Design
2020 - I rebranded the shop to Maker Lab! This was in the back of my mind throughout my journey at Fashion Institute of Technology and the day finally came. I began selling face mask and started to re list the new and improved items of the old shop
