My jewelry is a collage of many things: 14K to 18K gold chain, 14K gold filled wire (i have an affinity for yellow gold, reminding me of eastern jewelry), sterling silver wire and chain, seashells wrapped in emeralds, sapphires, rubies, tourmaline, iolite, opal, amazonite, quartz, druzy, large crystals, turquoise, labradorite, moonstone, sleeping beauty turquoise, and tons of chalcedony! In addition there are naturally shed feathers from a bird sanctuary, seashells from the shores of beaches from all over the world, and small Hmong pillow pockets from Laos.

I have been a jeweler since I was a little girl. Sometime in college I graduated to working with fine metals and gemstones and my roommates were eager to borrow from my fast growing collection of handmade creations. SpangleMaker Studios started growing as a business whenever I would sell a one-of-a-kind piece to an admirer. I started my business in New York City, where I lived for 10 years, shopping in the heart of the diamond and gems district--I still have my same stone suppliers 17 years later. I then moved to Amsterdam with my husband for 4 1/2 years where I met an amazing stone dealer who had the most exquisite Druzy from South America. Living in Europe, I was able to travel easily to Asia and pick amazing gems in Bangkok, explore the Hmong embroidery and tapestry styles in North Thailand and Laos, and collect seashells from every beach I have ever touched---all materials I incorporate into my work.
