Voy a ser honesto contigo y decirte que he sido un aspirante a creador durante mucho tiempo. Me encantaba hacer cosas, pero nunca estuve segura de lo buena que era, así que en su mayoría no lo hice. I'm going to be honest with you and tell you that I've been a maker-wannabe for a long long time. I loved to make things, but I was never sure how good I was, so I mostly didn't make. I worked my corporate job, traveled, and spent time with my husband and niblings. As my niblings got older, I became known for my crafts...not just known for them, but demanded for them. At the same time, my husband and his sister decided to try their hand at professional making, and created The Painted Hammer. They've been successful at it (http://www.thepaintedhammer.com), and it has really inspired me.
I started playing around with the materials and supplies that entered our workshop (aka basement), and realized how much I still loved making things. Then I started buying my own supplies, and I opened this shop.
Naming this adventure Studio SL2 is still something I'm happy with. My husband is SL1 (Shane Levin), and I am SL2 (second because I got the initials by marriage, Sunshine Levin). And the stuff I list and sell here comes out of MY studio effort - Studio SL2! None of what I make can happen without my husband though. Shane advises me on how to do things without cutting off my fingers, he gives me ideas & inspiration, and he even fills in when my day job gets too busy for my Etsy job.
Every time a sale comes through I get a rush of adrenaline, happiness, and general excitement. It will never ever get old, thank you!
