I create miniatures to make you dream of Tuscany

I'm Teffi, Stefania, from Pordenone (northern Italy) and I create artistic miniatures inspired by Tuscany. My dream is to bring this magical land to homes all over the world and share my love for Florence, Siena and the wonderful Tuscan countryside with you!

The first seed of my brand was planted in 1998 when I first visited Chianti and Val d'Orcia. I instantly fell in love with the breathtaking scenery, the rolling hills, the cottages and cypress trees. After several years of continuous visits to Val d'Orcia and Chianti, I felt the need to create a miniature souvenir that would remind me of the view of those landscapes so that I could always have a little piece of Tuscany with me.

In 2013 I began to draw freehand designs of those places; the images took life on paper but it just wasn’t enough for me. I wanted something three dimensional so I started collaborating with a master sculptor from Val Gardena. He transformed my sketches into wood, then, with a pantograph, he made miniature reproductions that, in turn, I decorated and painted by hand.

Production time, however, was very long and the work was too laborious. Fortunately, the turning point came in 2014 when I contacted Marco, a manufacturer of resin articles, who proposed to make resin and natural mineral (calcium carbonate) miniatures. We made numerous attempts until I was convinced and embraced this new material which, once decorated and painted, gives a similar effect to porcelain.
My farmhouses, churches, villages and historical monument miniatures were now both beautiful and light.
Today, thanks to the help of my assistant Paola and the inevitable Marco, I’ve made several designs inspired by Tuscany, including the cupolas of the Duomo, Villa Bramasole (which you may remember appeared in the movie Under the Tuscan Sun), the Medici villas, the cypresses of Val d'Orcia and the villages of Vitaleta (photographed by people all over the world).
I create these miniatures with the intention of carrying into your heart and before your eyes the memories and dreams of this special land, filled with incredible art, history and nature.

My path so far has not been without difficulty. The biggest difficulty I’ve faced has been to become a supplier to the Florence bookshops. In doing this I had to overcome a TOUGH selection. There is considerable competition and you have to overcome several steps, once you’ve past them, you have to face the toughest test: to please customers!
Now, after three years, I can proudly say that my miniatures are sold in the bookshops of Palazzo Vecchio and of the Duomo of Florence, Palazzo Piccolomini in Siena and in numerous shops from Siena to Florence, where tourists from all over the world can purchase and bring them to their homes.
My dream and goal are to definitively live in Val d'Orcia because Tuscany is home to me!

If you’d like to have a little piece of Tuscany always with you, go to my shop where you’ll find country houses, monuments and glimpses of this wonderful land!
