My Sewing Journey
Ich nähe seit meiner Kindheit, meine Lehrerin brachte mir im Alter von sechs Jahren bei, wie man eine Puppe näht. Als nächstes kam ein Patchwork-Kissen, als ich in Odessey of the Mind war. Meine Großmutter nahm mich dann unter ihre Fittiche und ließ mich bei den Halloween-Kostümen helfen, die sie für mich angefertigt hatte. In der High School begann ich, meine eigene Kleidung herzustellen, und das hielt bis zum College an.
Dann begann ich meine berufliche Laufbahn und mit der Zeit wurde meine Nähmaschine immer seltener genutzt. Doch als ich mein erstes Kind bekam, eröffnete mir die Inspiration, handgefertigte Gegenstände herzustellen, eine neue Welt der Inspiration, und das Nähen ist seitdem eine Konstante.
Nähen und Zusammensetzen ist eine Kunstform, in der ich beim Kreieren neuer Stücke viel kreativen Ausdruck und künstlerische Inspiration finde. Nähen ist eine Arbeit voller Liebe und es erfüllt mich mit großer Freude zu sehen, wie sehr meine Kunden die handgefertigten Artikel, die ich erstelle, schätzen.

I have been sewing since I was a young child, my teacher taught me how to sew a doll at the age of six. Next was a patchwork pillow when I was in Odessey of the Mind. My grandmother then took me under her wing and let me help with the Halloween costumes that she made me. In high school I began making my own clothes and that lasted through college.
Then I began my career path and over time my sewing machine was used less and less. But once I had my first child, the inspiration to make them handmade items brought a new world of inspiration and sewing has been a constant since.
Sewing and piecing is an art form where I find a lot of creative expression and artistic inspiration when I create new pieces. Sewing is a labor of love and it makes my heart happy to see how much my customers appreciate the handcrafted items that I create.
