The Story Behind The Reading Ritual
The Reading Ritual began with a simple love for books — and the moments that happen around them.
Like so many readers, I joined book clubs hoping to read more, connect deeper, and remember the stories that moved me. But meeting after meeting, I realized something was missing. My notes were scattered. Thoughts I meant to remember faded. And the conversations I loved so much lived only in memory.
I couldn't find a journal that truly supported the book club experience — one that helped me prepare before a meeting, capture discussions as they happened, and reflect afterward in a way that felt meaningful.
So I created one.
Moonlit Pages Book Club Journals were designed for readers who love discussion just as much as reading itself — guiding you through 26 monthly book picks, with space to organize your thoughts, record conversations, and hold onto the moments that make book clubs special. They come in two colorways: Day, a soft and romantic light pink, and Night, a deep and calming dark blue.
But the more I sat with that idea — that reading is something we do alone and also something that connects us — the more I wanted to bring it off the page entirely.
That's where The Reading Ritual came in.
I started designing apparel for readers who carry their love of books everywhere, not just to book club — shirts that say something quiet to the right person without ever needing an introduction. Cozy designs for the reader who lives in their blanket fort. Romantasy tees for the reader with a fictional villain living rent-free in her head. Dark academia pieces for the reader who's happiest surrounded by old libraries and candlelight. Every design comes from the same place the journals did: a genuine, sometimes obsessive, love of books and the people who share it.
Today, apparel is the heart of what I make — with new designs added regularly — alongside the two journals that started it all. And I'm just getting started: more bookish goods are on the way as this little shop grows.
Whether you're here for a shirt that says "I read past midnight" without saying a word, or a journal to hold onto your book club memories, thank you for supporting a small, woman-owned business built from a genuine love of books and community. 🌙
