The New Girl in Town...
I might be new to Etsy... but that doesn't mean I'm new to creating magic. I've been creating some kind of art for as long as I can remember. When I was a little girl, I'd decorate my grandparents' house with my artwork from floor to ceiling, I'd make endless button necklaces with skeens of yarn, I'd paint potato slices and stamp the porch floors with beautiful designs, I'd make clay figurines for my family, I'd run my swirl art and spirograph sets into the ground, and I'd bake up shrinky dinks for everyone under the sun. As I got older, I took art classes and got into pottery and weaving... acrylic and watercolor painting... and then someone put a camera in my hands and my true passion began.
I've been a professional photographer for 16 years now, but I've never given up my love for creating the kind of art that lets you get messy. Not that I don't get messy being a photographer! Trust me, you should see me after a session! Ha! But, I just can't get enough of the different colors of paints and watching those colors come to life on whatever it is I'm transforming. Once I get an idea in my head or I see something that sparks my interest... I use that as a starting point and then let my creativity flow. It's so rewarding to me to see my final piece come together.
I put a lot of heart, soul, and love into each piece I create. Nothing I make is done quickly. I don't rush through anything. Art is therapy for me and I find healing and peace in every single creation. Even if you're just here to look and you don't end up purchasing something, I hope you find something that speaks to you and makes you smile. That's my ultimate goal. I want to speak to people through my art. So, if I've done that... leave me a comment! I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Thank you so much and I hope you have an awesome day!
Hugs,
Amanda
