Why are we called Today's Pockets?
Our business was started because the pockets in my jeans made me cranky. Small, useless, and my phone kept falling out.
Skip forward a year or two, and we've realized there are bags we dream about that we'd like to see. So, why not create them? Nope, they are not pockets but they sure are useful.
And now, what shall we make them from? We work with the fabric stash we already have and realize we will need more to make our dream bags. We have pieces of no-longer-worn clothing and this sparks us to see what else we can save from the landfill.
We find canvas remnants from fabric dealers, beautiful comforters and shower curtains at thrift/vintage shops, fabric wholesalers selling remnants by the pound.
We now choose a featured item to upcycle and create a collection around it. Our first collection was the Wonky Parrots, based on an upcycled shower curtain. We are now working with a back-to-school set based on a super cute pastel plaid tablecloth.
Meanwhile, in the back of our mind, we think upon the ultimate utility belt-fanny pack combo. More to come on that.
Thanks for checking us out! We really appreciate the time you've spent with us.
