Empecé a coleccionar billetes antiguos casi por casualidad. Hace años, un familiar me regaló un pequeño fajo de billetes antiguos de rupias indonesias que estaban guardados en un cajón, y recuerdo que me sorprendió lo detallados que eran los diseños. Rinocerontes, orangutanes, bailarines tradicionales, volcanes, templos... todo grabado con una maestría que ya no se ve en los billetes. Empecé a investigar las diferentes series de billetes antiguos, los años en que se imprimieron, quién los diseñó, y una cosa llevó a la otra. Lo que empezó como una pequeña colección personal se convirtió en algo que quería compartir con otras personas que también lo apreciaran.
Esa es, en resumen, la historia de cómo empezó esta tienda.
La mayoría de lo que vendo proviene de mi colección personal o de billetes antiguos que he seleccionado específicamente por su interés o buen estado de conservación. No dirijo una gran empresa; simplemente soy yo, revisando cada billete a mano, escaneándolo, evaluando su estado con la mayor honestidad posible y empaquetándolo cuidadosamente antes de enviarlo.
Algunas cosas que me importan de esta tienda:
Sinceridad sobre el estado. Los billetes antiguos no van a estar perfectos, y prefiero explicarte con exactitud qué le ocurre a un billete (un pequeño desgarro, un agujero de alfiler, manchas de humedad) a que te lleves una decepción al abrir el paquete. Si un billete tiene defectos, los mencionaré. Si tengo dudas sobre algo, te lo diré.
Autenticidad garantizada. Todo lo que vendo es genuino. Nada de reproducciones, réplicas ni imitaciones. Si tienes dudas sobre algún billete antiguo que me hayas comprado, contáctame y lo aclararé.
Respondo mensajes. Si tienes alguna pregunta sobre un billete, quieres fotos adicionales o necesitas ayuda para determinar qué grado de conservación se ajusta a lo que buscas, envíame un mensaje. Reviso los mensajes con frecuencia y prefiero ayudarte a tomar la decisión correcta a que tengas que adivinar.
¿Quién me compra? La verdad, un poco de todo. Algunos son coleccionistas serios que buscan piezas raras para completar una serie específica que llevan años queriendo. Otros buscan un regalo único para un padre, un abuelo o un amigo aficionado a la historia, algo diferente a los regalos habituales, una pieza de colección realmente rara que le entusiasmará. Otros, simplemente, se toparon con billetes antiguos y sintieron curiosidad, igual que yo.

I got into collecting vintage paper money kind of by accident. A relative gave me a small stack of old Indonesian rupiah notes years ago, just sitting in a drawer, and I remember being surprised at how detailed the artwork was. Rhinos, orangutans, traditional dancers, volcanoes, temples, all engraved with this level of craftsmanship you just don't see on money anymore. I started looking into the different vintage banknote series, the years they were printed, who designed them, and one thing led to another. What started as a small personal collection turned into something I wanted to share with other people who'd appreciate it too.
That's really the short version of how this shop started.
Most of what I sell comes from my own collection, or vintage banknotes I've sourced specifically because I thought they were interesting or well-preserved. I'm not running a big operation here, it's really just me, checking each piece of paper money by hand, scanning it, grading the condition as honestly as I can, and packing it up carefully before it goes out.
A few things I care about with this shop:
Honesty about condition. Old banknotes aren't going to be perfect, and I'd rather tell you exactly what's going on with a note (a small tear, a pinhole, some foxing) than have you open the package and feel let down. If a note has flaws, I'll mention them. If I'm not sure about something, I'll say so.
Authenticity, always. Everything I sell is genuine. No reproductions, no replicas, no "inspired by" pieces pretending to be something they're not. If you ever have doubts about a piece of vintage currency you bought from me, reach out and I'll sort it out.
Actually answering messages. If you have a question about a note, want extra photos, or need help figuring out which condition grade fits what you're looking for, just message me. I check messages regularly and I'd rather help you make the right choice than have you guess.
Who buys from me? Honestly, a mix of people. Some are serious collectors chasing rare pieces to fill gaps in a specific series they've been after for years. Some are buying a unique gift for a dad, grandfather, or history-loving friend, something a little different from the usual gift ideas, and a genuinely rare collectible he'd actually get excited about. Others just stumbled onto vintage paper money and got curious, the same way I did.
