Ho iniziato a dilettarmi con i coloranti quando mia madre ha aperto la sua attività di abbigliamento tie-dye. Ho iniziato con la tintura del mio tessuto per le trapunte, poi la tintura è passata in secondo piano quando ho scoperto la filatura. Stavo guidando un camion in quel momento e la tintura NON era qualcosa che mi sentivo a mio agio a fare sulla strada.
Avanti veloce di qualche anno verso Etsy e la cessazione della mia carriera di pilota. Avevo bambini e un rinnovato senso di creatività per quanto riguarda i coloranti, oltre a filare il mio filato ha aperto la strada alla tintura della fibra da filare. Questo è andato di pari passo con la tintura del filato, ed eccomi qui.
Continuo a lavorare a maglia e a filare, ma la maggior parte del mio tempo è dedicato alla pastorizia di bambini e animali e alla tintura di filati. Di tanto in tanto faccio piccoli lotti di sapone e ho iniziato a fare pennarelli per punti.

I began dabbling in dyes when my mom opened her tie-dye clothing business. I started with dyeing my own fabric for quilts then dyeing took a back seat when I discovered spinning. I was driving truck at the time and dyeing was NOT something I was comfortable doing on the road.
Fast forward a few years to Etsy and the cessation of my driving career. I had kids and a renewed sense of creativity where dyes were concerned, plus spinning my own yarn opened up the path to DYEING the fiber to spin. That went hand-in-hand with dyeing yarn, and here I am.
I still knit and spin, but most of my time is spent herding children and animals and dyeing yarns. I make small batches of soap occasionally and have begun to make stitch markers.
This is one slippery slope!
