5 out of 5 starsMy boyfriend absolutely loved this print, he used to crew this boat and misses getting to sail her. It was a sweet surprise for him! ❤️ (our cockatiel also enjoys it very much)

5 out of 5 starsNot only is this an amazing print, but the cards, when they came, were in essentially a care package from Bowsprite with other gorgeous prints from her. Everyone I've sent the card to has complimented me and wanted to know the artist.

About bowsprite
I love ships!
I started on a steel schooner in NYHarbor, and learned much from the women and men who know how to fix, maintain and sail the boats. You can’t work on a boat and not learn.
I’ve worked on little harbor work boats to busy passenger vessels to huge party cruisers, and it is the camaraderie of crew and the marine community that I love. Sea stories are the best–-whether they are true or not.
I love to draw outdoors, by the ship, preferring that than to drawing from photographs. Mariners tend to be quite proud of their vessels while they are working on one. I think ships are beautiful: from noble traditional sailing vessels to little workboats or ferries. I’ve not done much blue water sailing because: I get sea sick, alas, I do.
But a so-so day on NYHarbor is better than a good day at the office, so you will find me somewhere out there!
These prints are from original pen and ink watercolors. My blog is at http://bowsprite.wordpress.com/; you can also find more nautical goods on bowsprite.com.
