Sembra che io abbia costruito costumi per tutta la vita. Questo è quello che ho fatto per molti anni: ho disegnato e realizzato costumi per programmi di danza e spettacoli fino a quando mio marito è andato in pensione e voleva viaggiare dove mai un camper ci avrebbe portato. Così abbiamo fatto. Mi sono anche ritirato, ho trovato un posto per la macchina da cucire e le forniture per cucire nel camper e siamo partiti con il cane per viaggiare in questo nostro grande paese. Le mie mani non erano mai inattive. Il marito guidava e io cucivo. Per lo più ho cucito oggetti per le vacanze o piccole cose che ho dato come regali ad amici e familiari che abbiamo visitato lungo la strada. Quando finalmente siamo tornati a casa dopo molti anni di vita di R V, avevo ancora bisogno di qualcosa che mi tenesse occupato. Ho scoperto ETSY e ho deciso che avrei realizzato costumi per bambini. Nove anni dopo mi sto ancora divertendo - ancora seduto alla macchina da cucire e decidendo dove andrà questo pezzo di pizzo, o voglio usare nastri - come voglio chiudere questo indumento - bottoni abbinati, bottoni ineguagliabili, cravatte o rane?
Cerco sempre di progettare pensando ai bambini e quale sarebbe il modo più semplice per loro di godersi i loro costumi.

It seems I have been building costumes all my life. That is what I did for many years--I designed and made costumes for dance programs and plays up until my husband retired and wanted to travel where ever a motor home would take us. So-we did. I retired also, found a place for the sewing machine and sewing supplies in the motor home and we were off with the dog to travel this great country of ours. My hands were never idle. The hubby drove and I sewed. I mostly sewed holiday items or little things that I gave as gifts to friends and family we visited on the way. When we finally returned home after many years of the R V life--I still needed somethings to keep me busy. I found out about ETSY and decided I would make Children's costumes. Nine years later I am still having fun- still sitting at the sewing machine and deciding where this piece of lace will go, or do I want to use ribbons--how do I want to close this garment--matching buttons, unmatched buttons, ties or frogs?
I always try to design with the kids in mind and what would be the easiest way for them to enjoy their costumes.
