For Beginners Illumination Book-1 - Ottoman Art

illumination, which literally means to "gold", has survived as a branch of traditional arts. With its history of more than centuries, this art has continued to develop continuously.

A lot of effort has been made to teach and keep alive our art of illumination, which has reached its most mature and classical forms by the stylization technique that emerged as a manifestation of our ancient civilization's understanding of oneness. A guide book was always needed while this effort was walking in a master-apprentice relationship with the method of practice.

The aim of this book is to include information such as the concepts of illumination art, its requirements for design and composition, at a basic level. The definition and brief history of this art and the knowledge of the tools and materials used are included. In practice, how the description, drawing and coloring of the line, leaf, claw, rose bud, Hataî, çintemani, composition and features, ruler-zencerek, crochet, circular and semi-stylized flower patterns it has been tried to explain with examples of classical gilding.
