If losing track of time while making a new item for my shop is what a life passion is all about – then I have found one of mine!
Following the lead of one of our talented daughters (a very successful Etsy seller in her own right); I took the plunge in 2010 and opened my Etsy shop.
Wreaths, clothing protectors (adult bibs), and "cooks" towels now fill my shop. Making a useful clothing item from new and/or up-cycled materials, satisfies another of my passions - to recycle, reuse, or redo!
All of the hand-made items in my shop have been customized and created by me. Early on I chose to only hand-wire rather than glue the components in my wreaths and swags. Time consuming to be sure, I believe the extra attention gives the wreaths a nicer finish and durability.
Although my college major early-on was interior design, my true education has developed from observation, trial and error, and a love of what I do. I often find only nice quality products in the marketplace match the feel and quality of hand-crafted items. I believe the extra few minutes to finish a detail gives the crafted item a unique personalization.
