Growing up in Hong Kong, stationery was always something I was drawn to as a kid, so much so that I would collect hundreds of writing sets and beautifully designed notepads to exchange with friends. By the age of 10, I was taught to write Chinese calligraphy and English cursively at school. I remembered the day I was awarded my pen license in year 6 (now living in Australia), I felt relieved to be able to write cursively again. I realised 20 years later, that these skills were ingrained in me when I signed up for a calligraphy class at my local scrapbooking store, out of boredom from working as a graphic designer.
I discovered the world of letterpress around the same time and immersed myself in learning the process which was so fascinating for me. Seeing the inked lead types pressed into a fluffy cotton paper in real life was an epiphany for me. I just knew I had to entwine my two loves together, thus INKSY was born.
