Benvenuti ad Amelia J's Crafting - Sono Sam e vivo nel North Dorset.
Fino ad ora ho lavorato nella pubblicità per 20 anni e poi gli ultimi 20 anni nell'istruzione. Recentemente, ho preso la decisione di cambiare direzione e seguire i miei sogni...
Ho sempre amato cucire e questo è iniziato quando ero a scuola. Non potevamo permetterci molti vestiti, quindi ho fatto il mio... in particolare tute per le quali ero ben noto nel 1980! ! Il tessuto era molto più economico e non c'erano i negozi di abbigliamento più economici in giro allora.
In seguito, ero solito fare i vestiti dei miei figli, ma una vita frenetica di famiglia e lavoro a tempo pieno ha preso il sopravvento, quindi la macchina da cucire è andata in letargo.
Sono molto fortunato ad avere la mia stanza / studio artigianale a casa e questo mi consente di sperimentare molti mestieri (recentemente ho seguito un corso di infeltrimento). Non posso dire che tutti abbiano successo, ma mi piace provare - ho trovato l'uncinetto molto difficile per qualche motivo!
Ora, ho fatto il grande passo e ho intrapreso la mia attività per comprendere il mio amore per il tessuto e l'artigianato - Amelia Js Bunting.
La gente mi chiede perché non prende il nome da me e la risposta è semplice ...., la mia defunta mamma amava lo zigolo in tutte le sue stanze oltre ad essere lei stessa un crafter (più punto croce, ricamo / cucito). Il suo secondo nome era Amelia e anche il nome di sua madre era quello, quindi questo è in suo onore di entrambi.
Principalmente si tratterà di zigoli fatti a mano e progetti di tessuti, ma ci saranno anche altri mestieri, compresi i gioielli.
Il sito web è un work in progress e un altro processo di apprendimento!

Welcome to Amelia J's Crafting - I am Sam and based in North Dorset.
Up to now I worked in advertising for 20 years and then the last 20 years in education. Recently, I made the decision to change direction and follow my dreams...
I have always loved sewing and this started when I was at school. We couldn't afford lots of clothing so I made my own...particularly jumpsuits which I was well known for in the 1980s!! Fabric was much cheaper and there weren't the cheaper clothing shops around then.
Following this, I used to make my childrens clothing but a busy life of family and full time work took over, so the sewing machine went into hibernation.
I am very lucky to have my own craft room / studio at home and this enables me to experiment with many crafts (recently I went on a felting course). I can't say all are successful but I like to have a try - I found crocheting very difficult for some reason!
Now, I have taken the plunge and embarked on my own business to encompass my love of fabric & crafts - Amelia Js Bunting.
People ask me why its not named after me and the answer is simple....,my late mum loved bunting in all her rooms as well as being a crafter herself (more cross stitch, embroidery / sewing). Her middle name was Amelia and her mums first name was that too so this is in her honor of them both.
Primarily this will be handmade bunting and fabric projects but there will be other crafts too including jewellery.
The website is a work in progress and another learning process!
